Nonhlanhla worked as a commercial attorney for a couple of law firms and as a Group Company Secretary-Legal Advisor for a stockbroking firm. In 2003 she founded a consultancy firm so to provide corporate governance services to various corporations. She gained extensive experience in commercial and corporate matters  from her position as a stagiare (visiting attorney) with Linklaters & Alliance based in London UK where she was involved in commercial and corporate transactions including research drafting of contracts general advise and conducting due diligences for and on behalf of various English based and international corporations.

Nonhlanhla joined Makaula Zilwa Incorporated in 11/2003; she also serves as a Director on a number of Boards and a trustee on non profit organizations. 

Theo was admitted to the sidebar in 5/1977 and practiced on a full-time basis for his own account until 1987 when he left active practice to pursue a career in commerce. He was the founder and a Director of the Maxiprest Tyres Group (JSE Listed-1997) till 2/2002 when he resigned and got involved in the travel and tours business.

Throughout his business career Theo remained on the practicing roll of attorneys as a consultant to Jack Hajibey Incorporated (1987-10/2003). He resigned from his position and in 10/2003 joined Makaula Zilwa Incorporated.
