Legal Stature
Zilwa started his career in 1991 as an
associate at the law firm Cohen, Weis & Simon based in
New York USA and was involved in a number of substantial
corporate transactions. His vast experience in general
legal matters and his high regarded skills was
recognized resulting in him being appointed as an acting
judge in the Labour Court of South Africa on numerous
sessions since 2000. In this regard he has studied,
interpreted and applied various statutes and legal
authorities both on South African and International
laws. Various judgments of his have been reported in the
Labour Law journals. Being a conveyancer and notary
public, he has acted in numerous property transactions
including mortgage bonds, Notarial bonds, servitudes and
transfer of property on behalf of banks, developers’
companies and individual including entities as Southfin,
Standard Bank LTD, ABSA and Transnet. Zilwa has written articles in 2003 for
the South African attorney’s journal, De Rebus in the
field of the Corporate law. His recent contribution
towards the article “Impediments to the
implementation of the whole business Securitisation in
South Africa” is widely acknowledged and respected. |
